Hautlence has just unveiled its latest masterpiece, the Sphere Series 5, a striking timepiece that reimagines the brand's iconic spherical jumping hour display in a brilliant white. This limited edition, with only 28 pieces available, builds upon the successful foundation of its predecessors, each known for their distinctive color palettes and innovative designs. The Series 5's introduction at the prestigious Salón Internacional de Alta Relojería in Mexico City highlights its significance in the world of haute horlogerie.
Introducing the Hautlence Sphere Series 5: A Fusion of Innovation and Elegance
The Hautlence Sphere Series 5 is a remarkable addition to the brand's acclaimed collection, presenting a pristine white interpretation of its signature multi-axis spherical jumping hour display. This newest iteration, a limited edition of just 28 timepieces, is set to make its grand debut at the Salón Internacional de Alta Relojería (SIAR) in Mexico City.
Housed within a meticulously crafted rectangular Grade 5 titanium case, the Sphere Series 5 measures 37mm by 45mm, with a thickness of 17.4mm including the sapphire crystal, or 11.5mm without. The case showcases a refined blend of satin-finished and polished surfaces across its middle, lugs, bezel, and crown, upholding the series' distinctive design language. A highly durable sapphire crystal, enhanced with anti-reflective treatment and beveled edges, offers protection to the dial, while a sapphire case back provides an intriguing glimpse into the intricate mechanics of the movement. The watch boasts a water resistance of 100 meters, affirming its robust construction.
At the heart of the Sphere Series 5's allure is its captivating spherical jumping hour mechanism. This innovative display features a titanium sphere that rotates on three axes, guided by four conical gears arranged around two inclined crossed axes. Each hour, the sphere performs a precise rotation to reveal the subsequent numeral. The minutes are elegantly indicated by a retrograde hand that sweeps across a 180-degree sector. For this particular edition, the hours sphere is coated in white, with engraved numerals filled with grey Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. The minutes hand, fashioned from micro-blasted brass, boasts a sandblasted coating and grey Super-LumiNova. The dial's base is a skeletonized, rhodium-plated brass with a frosted finish, complemented by applied Globolight minute numerals on a sapphire dial.
Powering this exquisite timepiece is the hand-wound A82 caliber. This movement is a testament to collaborative ingenuity, combining a base architecture sourced from Hautlence's sister company, Moser, with a display module meticulously designed and assembled by Hautlence itself. Comprising 160 components and 31 jewels, the movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers a minimum power reserve of 72 hours, ensuring reliable performance.
The watch is elegantly presented on a white suede strap, secured with a titanium folding clasp. Initially, for its first 30 days, the Sphere Series 5 will be exclusively launched in Mexico. Watches allocated to the Mexican market will include three interchangeable suede straps in white, green, and red, adding a touch of national pride. Following this exclusive period, subsequent deliveries will come with only the white suede strap. The Hautlence Sphere Series 5 is priced at CHF 72,200 (excluding taxes).
The Hautlence Sphere Series 5 represents more than just a watch; it is a testament to the relentless pursuit of horological innovation and aesthetic refinement. Its unique display and meticulous craftsmanship offer a fresh perspective on time-telling, encouraging wearers to appreciate the artistry and engineering involved in every tick. This timepiece inspires a deeper connection to the mechanics of time, reminding us that even in a digital age, the beauty of a finely crafted mechanical watch remains unparalleled.
