Hublot's Big Bang Original Soft Touch Red & Black Chronographs
Hublot, a brand synonymous with material innovation for over twenty years, continues to redefine luxury watchmaking with its latest Big Bang Original Soft Touch chronographs. These timepieces introduce an unprecedented tactile dimension, integrating a specialized rubber compound that transforms the watch's surface into a velvety, soft-to-the-touch experience. This pioneering approach goes beyond mere surface treatment, embedding the unique texture directly into the watch's fundamental structure.
Crafted for both visual appeal and sensory interaction, the new Big Bang Original models employ an exclusive rubber compound. Unlike superficial coatings that might degrade, Hublot's meticulous overmolding process permanently incorporates microscopic textured elements, ensuring the soft, velvet-like finish endures across the case, bezel, dial, and strap. This inventive design maintains the iconic 43mm titanium case's robust 100m water resistance and its distinctive layered construction, complete with lateral bumpers and the signature H-shaped titanium bezel screws.
The collection offers two distinct color variants: 'All Red' and 'All Black.' The 'All Black' model pays homage to Hublot's monochromatic black timepiece from 2006, while the 'All Red' version celebrates the brand's expertise in crafting vibrant, high-tech ceramic watches, echoing the 2018 Red Ceramic edition. The dial, also fashioned from the specialized rubber, showcases a dynamic carbon-patterned print and luminous Arabic numerals inspired by the original 2005 Big Bang. Two sub-dials, one for small seconds at 9 o'clock and another for the 60-minute chronograph at 3 o'clock, complement a date window positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock. Luminously accented hands complete the cohesive color scheme.
Driving these innovative watches is the HUB1280 Unico manufacture integrated flyback column-wheel chronograph movement. Comprising 354 components and 43 jewels, this automatic caliber operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and provides an impressive 72-hour power reserve. Equipped with Hublot's patented One-Click quick-release system, the velvety rubber straps, adorned with the classic lozenge pattern, are secured by a titanium deployant buckle. These Big Bang All Black and All Red models are now part of the brand's permanent collection, symbolizing a harmonious blend of innovative materials, sophisticated mechanics, and a commitment to sensory luxury in contemporary watch design.
