Nuncier Unveils Limited Edition Lunar Mission Watch in Collaboration with NASA

October 15

Nuncier, a dynamic independent watchmaker from the Middle East, has recently unveiled its limited-edition Lunar Mission timepiece. This release signifies a notable milestone, being the brand's second collaboration with NASA and establishing Nuncier as the first Middle Eastern watch brand in the GCC to achieve official NASA endorsement for a watch design. The new offering is a tribute to humanity's initial journey to the moon, showcasing a distinct, modern monochromatic design enriched with unique visual elements inspired by NASA, all powered by a sophisticated automatic movement.

The Lunar Mission watch from Nuncier maintains the brand's recognizable 40.5mm wide contemporary sports watch casing, yet its presentation diverges significantly. To faithfully represent the moon's surface, the Grade 2 titanium case is finished in a completely matte 'concrete' texture, providing a grainy, medium-gray appearance that perfectly emulates the dusty terrain of the moon. Both the dial and the display caseback are protected by sapphire crystals, and the watch boasts a water resistance of 100 meters. The lunar theme is further extended onto the dial, which features a detailed, cratered surface and a depiction of Neil Armstrong's boot print at the six o'clock position. The celestial inspiration is also evident in a raised outer ring that outlines each phase of a NASA flight mission. The NASA emblem is prominently displayed at twelve o'clock, and Nuncier's customary Eastern Arabic hour markers are replaced with avant-garde raised lozenge indicators.

Powering this exquisite timepiece is the Miyota 9039 automatic movement. This movement is outfitted with a bespoke rotor designed for Nuncier, which features a bold and dynamic astronaut motif. The 9039 movement provides a power reserve of 42 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The absence of a date display on this particular 9039 caliber ensures a cleaner and more aesthetically balanced dial. Nuncier pairs the watch with a quick-release rubber strap in a coordinating lunar gray color. Crafted from the brand's 'Nanotech' dirt-resistant material, this strap includes a raised weave pattern in its central section and is secured with a sandblasted Grade 2 titanium buckle. The Nuncier Lunar Mission is a limited edition, with only 100 pieces available for $999 USD, offering a unique blend of craftsmanship and space exploration heritage.

The Nuncier Lunar Mission watch combines artistic design with robust functionality, creating a timepiece that is not only a tribute to space exploration but also a testament to innovative watchmaking. Its distinctive aesthetic and collaboration with NASA underscore Nuncier's commitment to merging storytelling with horology.
