Sternglas Unveils Colorful Naos Automatik Edition Bauhaus X for 10th Anniversary

June 30

Celebrating ten years in the horology world, Sternglas has launched a special collection, the Naos Automatik Edition Bauhaus X series, reimagining their beloved Naos model. This collection offers a fresh take on the brand's signature minimalist aesthetic, incorporating a vibrant spectrum of colors and a luminous dial, creating a truly unique series for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Sternglas Commemorates a Decade of Design with Naos Automatik Edition Bauhaus X Release

In a significant milestone for the brand, Sternglas has unveiled the Naos Automatik Edition Bauhaus X, a new collection that pays homage to a decade of design excellence. These three distinct timepieces, available in limited runs of 500 per color, infuse the iconic Bauhaus principles of functional color and light as a shaping element into the classic Naos design. Each watch features a 38mm stainless steel case, offering 50 meters of water resistance, and is paired with a 20mm leather strap. The defining characteristic is the off-white dial, entirely coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring a bright glow in low-light conditions. Replacing traditional numerals, the dials showcase applied black markers in the fundamental Bauhaus shapes of circles, squares, and triangles. The hour and minute hands are finished in black with off-white Super-LumiNova, while a slender seconds hand, available in blue, red, or yellow, adds a striking primary color accent to each model. Turning the watch over reveals an individually numbered case back with a tinted transparent display, matching the seconds hand's vibrant hue, providing a glimpse into the Miyota 8215 automatic movement within. This 21-jewel caliber operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, boasts a 42-hour power reserve, and includes a date complication visible at 6 o’clock. The ensemble is completed with a black leather strap featuring stitching that complements the colored seconds hand and case back. Initially priced at €469 / US$619 / £419, the price will subsequently adjust to €499 / US$649 / £449, making these limited-edition pieces a compelling acquisition for fans of minimalist design and horology.

This special release from Sternglas beautifully captures the essence of the Bauhaus movement, offering a playful yet sophisticated interpretation of timekeeping. The thoughtful integration of color and light not only enhances the watches' visual appeal but also reinforces their connection to a rich design philosophy. For those who appreciate watches that tell a story beyond mere time, or simply admire the clean lines and artistic principles of Bauhaus, the Naos Automatik Edition Bauhaus X presents an opportunity to own a piece that is both aesthetically pleasing and steeped in historical design significance. Its comfortable wearability and reliable movement ensure that these watches are not just works of art, but practical companions for everyday life.
