Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair 2027 Exceeds Exhibitor Registration Targets

October 09

The upcoming Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair, a collaborative effort by Informa Markets and MCH Group, is generating significant enthusiasm within the industry, with a remarkable 70% of its exhibitor registration target already secured for its debut in April 2027. This early success underscores a clear market need for a pivotal event that serves as a vital link between the vibrant jewellery, watch, and gemstone sectors of Asia and Europe. Slated to take place at Messe Basel, the fair promises to be a hub for fostering meaningful industry connections, unveiling innovative products, and driving business expansion across continents.

The Basilia fair, scheduled from April 8 to 11, 2027, at Messe Basel’s Hall 2, is rapidly approaching its goal of attracting over 400 exhibitors. The current registrant pool is predominantly composed of jewellery and gemstone businesses, accounting for approximately 75% of participants, with watchmakers making up the remaining quarter. Roman Imgrüth, CEO of MCH Exhibitions & Events, emphasized that the positive momentum in registrations, achieved in just three months, validates the fair's unique value proposition: creating a dynamic gateway for trade between Asia and Europe. He also highlighted the opportunity to innovate the trade fair experience, making it both engaging and effective for all attendees.

Basilia is set to feature a diverse array of jewellery, gemstones, and watches across various price points, including premium and select high-end items. A particular focus will be on accessible and mid-market segments, offering brands and suppliers efficient avenues to connect with buyers and establish distribution networks. The fair will be organized into distinct districts and participation formats, ensuring a professional showcase for exhibitors and enabling buyers to easily locate relevant products and partners. Leading companies such as AV Globale from Singapore, CHQ GmbH and M. T. Mohr from Germany, Cheng & Cheung and RMC Gems from Hong Kong, Duang Kaew from Thailand, Venus Jewel from India, and Precious Pebbles from the United States have already confirmed their participation, demonstrating the fair's broad appeal. Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets, noted the strong interest from competitive Asian suppliers seeking to enter or expand into European markets, alongside a growing number of European companies. She believes this diversity will offer unparalleled opportunities for attendees to discover unique products and forge cross-regional partnerships.

Beyond established names, the event will also provide a dedicated platform for independent and emerging jewellery and watch brands within its 'Emerging Brands District.' This area will offer tailored presentation formats, complemented by 'Launch Stages' and media activities, to bring new talent and creative concepts to a wider audience. The fair is designed to facilitate connections between wholesalers, distributors, sourcing specialists, and retailers, ensuring a comprehensive ecosystem for industry growth and collaboration. Basel's tourism bureau has actively supported the initiative by securing over 2,500 hotel rooms at attractive rates, demonstrating the city's commitment to hosting the event. Letizia Elia, CEO of Basel Tourismus, stated that Basel, with its long history as a trade fair city, offers an ideal, internationally accessible, yet compact setting for the jewellery and watch industry to converge and explore future trends.

The Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair aims to redefine the trade fair experience by offering a comprehensive platform where industry professionals can engage, discover, and transact. With a strong emphasis on fostering a professional yet exciting environment, the fair will cater to the specific needs of various market segments, from high-end luxury to accessible designs. This strategic approach, combined with the ideal location of Basel, positions the fair as a crucial annual event for global jewellery and watch businesses looking to expand their reach and explore new opportunities between Asia and Europe.
